How we editing our whole sequence together:

LEARNING COMMENT:

From making our film I've learnt many different editing techniques for example how to add white flashes to create the effect of flashbacks and how to make the typography move around to make a more scary atmosphere to our film. I also learnt how to add effects and change the lighting of certain shots and how to add different sound effects and music to the background. Additionally, I learnt how to add credits and use the green screen on iMovie.

This is our second draft, we added faster music towards the end of the of our sequence to match the pace of the narrative and we also changed some of typography as some of it was in the wrong order and some the names/roles had been repeated.

LEARNING COMMENT:
I learnt how to use youtube converter and add music to the background of our opening sequence and how to overlap sounds to create effect. Furthermore, I now know how to try out different sounds against the sequence to see which fits the narrative best.

LEARNING COMMENT:

From making our opening sequence I have learnt how to use the green screen on iMovie and how to add title and typography to a film. Also from task one and other research I have learnt about the order typography should appear on screen and therefore make sure that the order of my titles were correct and made my film look professional. Additionally i tried out different techniques such as making my titles flash and move around on screen by putting the same screenshot of the green screen next to each other and making them appear for different amounts of time and putting slightly different positions next to each other to make it look like the typography was moving across the screen. The inspiration for the moving titles came from doing research into horror film openings to fit with our sub genre, in particular the opening sequence to the film se7en stood out to us and gave us the idea for our titles.

Audience Research

We asked some people in our target audience age range about whether they liked the poster and if it made them want to watch our film.

LEARNING COMMENT: 

From looking into how we would advertise our film I learned more about the importance of how the audience view the film and making them want to watch the film. I learnt more about what they felt the film would be like and from the propaganda used and the importance of researching the target audience of the opening sequence so I was able to meet what the audience would want and expect from a coming of age/horror film and how to hook them in the opening sequence. 

Creating Our Title

How We Creating Our Title: 

This was the final outcome of our title:

We decided to add the faces to make the title more jumpy and atmospheric. We also thought that it would help hook the audience into watching our film and would make the title memorable as it would capture their attention more. Additionally, the flashes will confuse the audience making it harder to read the title easily therefore the audience will have to concentrate more meaning they are more engaged in the opening. It may also make the title more provocative as the higher level of concentration on the words might make the audience think more about the meaning of the words and how they link to the narrative. The title also foreshadows the narrative to come.

Learning Comment:

From doing this task I leaned how to add white flashes on iMovie to add to the authenticity of my opening and how to use the strobe light effect. Furthermore I've learned how to download different types of text from websites such as dafont.com and embed them into iMovie this will be useful when come to add my typography and titles as I will be able to add interest by using different fonts rather than the standard ones.
