Sound effects
These are some sound effects we tried out before choosing our final music and sounds for our opinion sequence:
LEARNING COMMENT:
From trying our different sounds and musics i have learnt that trial and error can be a very useful part of creating and opening sequence and my final product. I found that its best to try as many different sounds as you can therefore you can choose which one fits best with the narrative and creates the right feel for the genre of the film. I've learnt that the music to an opening sequence is so important as it is the first thing the audience hears and they need to understand the link to the genre or narrative or get some emotion from the music or they may lose interest or judge the whole film based on the music not working at the start. Also i've learnt that adding more than one sound to one shot can be very effective and create a lot of atmosphere as well as changing the music and the pace of the music as the pace of the narrative changes. This correlation between the music and the action on screen hooks the audience and engages them making them feel what the character is feeling for example, sad music can make the whole scene seem more sad or in my case faster music can help build more panic and suspense making the audience intrigued to watch more.
