Typography
Learning comment:
From doing this task I have learned the importance of the typography used within an opening sequence as it must reflect the genre of the film well and must help to hook the audience into watching the film. in our case our genre was coming of age with the sub genre of horror therefore we tried to find a font that reflect both of those genres and reveal more of the films narrative to the audience. By trying lots of different fonts we were able to find the one we liked best and thought fit best with our opening sequence. I also know that the font of the title is very important as the title is meant to be eye catching and stick in the audience's mind meaning it has to fit the genre and the film perfectly or the opening may lose some effect. I also have more knowledge of the typography that appears on the scene of an opening sequence and how important the order the names and titles appear is. To make our scene authentic and look professional we looked at opening credits to existing films and looks at the pattern in the order the titles appear, in each film their were slight variations on the order however overall they were all roughly the same. When making our list we decided to follow the most common order of producers and distributors first followed by directors, main actors then everyone else involved in the production.
